Wagging Their Way to Wellbeing: Meet Our Therapy Dogs, Luna & Jasper!

Here at New Bradwell School Department we're excited to have Luna and Jasper, our certified therapy dogs, as part of our school community!

What are therapy dogs?

Therapy dogs are specially trained furry friends who visit schools to provide emotional support and companionship to students. They've been shown to:

  • Reduce stress and anxiety
  • Boost self-esteem and confidence
  • Improve social skills and communication
  • Encourage reading and literacy development
  • Create a more positive and calming school environment

How do Luna & Jasper work at our school?

Luna and Jasper, along with their qualified handlers and interact with students in various ways, such as:

  • Individual sessions with students
  • Reading programs where students can practice reading aloud to a non-judgmental listener
  • Group visits to classrooms to provide comfort and a sense of calm

Meeting Luna & Jasper:

Safety is our top priority. If you have any concerns about allergies or pet safety, please don't hesitate to contact the school office.

We will be scheduling meet-and-greet sessions throughout the year so students can get to know Luna and Jasper properly. In the meantime, keep an eye out for these furry friends around campus!
